The Power of the Humanities

NEH on the Road is proud to be supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities

Since NEH on the Road began touring exhibitions in 2005, sixteen exhibitions have toured to more than 300 venues in forty-seven states and the District of Columbia.

  • More than one million children and adults have engaged with these exhibitions
  • 99,268 children and adults attended exhibitions in fiscal year 2016 alone
  • 53% of the communities served have a population under 50,000
  • 86% of audiences surveyed said they learned new and valuable information from the exhibitions

The NEH itself has trained 95,598 teachers and professors. NEH-supported research has resulted in eighteen Pulitzer Prizes, twenty Bancroft Prizes, and numerous other awards for documentary films. (Source: Museum Hack/NEH)
